Kids Party Invitations: 6 Printable Fill-In Templates

The first thing a kid asks after you plan a party is, "Can I have invitations?" And for a long time my answer was a pack of store-bought cards with just enough room to write the date and nothing else, never the time or the address or the RSVP.
These six invitations were made to answer every question a parent asks. Each card has seven blanks, so you write once and nobody has to text you about it.
What is inside
- 6 invitation designs in 6 color themes: Confetti Pop, Rainbow Arches, Starburst, Balloon Bunch, Pennant Party and Polka Pop
- 2 invitations per page, 7.4 by 4.8 inches each
- Blanks for who is turning, age, date, time, place, RSVP to, and please bring or notes
- A center cut line and a how-to-print sheet
Three themes to try
- Balloon Bunch: five balloons in teal, coral and navy on an aqua side panel. Cheerful and easy for a first birthday.
- Rainbow Arches: coral, teal and gold arches that look like a rainbow rising from the bottom of the card.
- Starburst: navy and pale blue rays with a pink center, a bold look for older kids.
How to use them
Print at 100 percent on white cardstock. Cut across the center on the dashed line, then trim around each card. Write the details with a gel pen. If you want a typed look, open the PDF in any editor that supports text boxes and type over the lines before you print.
Each card is 7.4 by 4.8 inches, so it fits a standard A7 envelope or can be folded in half into a 3.7 by 4.8 inch card. If you are handing invitations out at school, check the school's rules about allergies and put a note on the notes line.
Mixing themes
For a class party, print two pages of each of three designs, and hand them out in a mix. It looks like you bought a pack of custom cards, and no one invitation looks like the next. The notes line is where I put "Please let me know about allergies," and it has saved me more than once.
Everything is a PDF, so you can print one page tonight, test the ink, and print the rest tomorrow.
A few tips from my own parties
Send invitations two to three weeks ahead, and put the RSVP date in the notes line so you can plan the cake. Use the Place line for the full address and a landmark, like the park's pavilion number. If you are inviting a whole class, print one extra page in case of mistakes, because it is easy to smudge a line when the pen is running low. Keep a spare invitation for the grandparents.
